Spirit Dance/ 2012 Ancient Arbor Sheng Puerh

In February, 2024, we replaced the previous Spirit Dance with a tea that is even more primitive, pristine, ancient and wild tea trees. It is still a 2012 sheng puerh but now has even more cha chi (tea energy/ life force), having been harvested from big leaf Assamica “mother trees” south of Mengku, Lincang where the oldest and most primate trees grow wild.

These leaves are early first flush growth, making them aromatic, full of life force energy and great for aging. They are beginning to show a desirable orchid aroma which will deepen over time.

A tea for celebration and ceremony, Spirit Dance is incredibly powerful, dynamic, sweet and has a long hou yun, or lingering flavor.

STEEPING:

Steep about 1 teaspoon in about 5 ounces of water about 5 minutes off the boil.

Begin by rinsing the leaves once with hot water by pouring water over the leaves and then immediately discarding it. This prepares the leaves for steeping. Then steep each infusion for between 10 and 20 seconds each.
