Peppermint Leaves

Mentha piperita is spearmint's spicier sister. Sharing the same qualities of spearmint, peppermint has a sharper taste, a quicker activation and a more powerful impact. This joyful and aromatic botanical was named after the nymph, Minthe, who had the heart of Pluto and so was turned into an herb by Persephone in a fit of jealousy. Though he could not rescue her, Pluto ensured that she would have a scent that would permeate the garden. This whole leaf peppermint, organically grown in Oregon, was not milled. Rather, it was hand- harvested and uncut to maintain its potency and vibrance.
